Privacy Policy — 100% In-Browser Privacy Protection

LaptopXray's privacy policy explains our strict client-side architecture, Google AdSense cookies, analytics, and compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and India DPDP Act 2023.

Last updated: November 5, 2026 • Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Core Architectural Guarantee: LaptopXray does not collect, record, stream, or transmit video from your webcam, audio from your microphone, keystrokes from your keyboard, or motion data from your sensors to any external server. All diagnostic computations occur entirely in your local browser memory.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how LaptopXray ("we", "our", "us"), founded by Vishal Jethwani and operated from Gujarat, India at https://laptopxray.com, handles information when you access our diagnostic utilities, calculators, and troubleshooting guides.

2. Hardware Diagnostic Data (100% Client-Side Processing)

When you execute any of our 75+ diagnostic tools, our scripts interact with your device exclusively via standard browser APIs:

  • Microphone & Audio Input (getUserMedia / Web Audio API): Audio samples captured during the Mic Test, Decibel Meter, Tone Generator, Pitch Detector, Vocal Range Test, or Guitar Tuner are analyzed locally for frequency, RMS levels, and waveform rendering. They are never recorded, compressed, or streamed to any cloud server.
  • Webcam & Screen Capture (getUserMedia / getDisplayMedia): The Webcam Test, Screen Resolution Checker, Online Mirror, and Screen Recorder operate locally. Snapshots and recorded video files are generated in local browser memory and saved directly to your computer's storage upon your explicit click.
  • Keyboard & Mouse Data (KeyboardEvent / PointerEvent): Keystrokes, click timings, and mouse coordinates are used solely to illuminate on-screen keys, measure rollover, calculate CPS, or flag switch chattering. No keylogging occurs, and no keystroke sequence is ever stored or transmitted.
  • CPU & GPU Stress Tests (Web Workers / WebGL): Compute benchmarks execute local mathematical calculations (prime sieving, matrix arithmetic) inside temporary browser workers. No system telemetry beyond standard browser strings is captured.

3. Cookies and Advertising (Google AdSense & Third-Party Vendors)

LaptopXray uses third-party advertising partners, including Google AdSense, to serve advertisements when you visit our website.

  • Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on laptopxray.com.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to our site and other sites across the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendor cookies by visiting AboutAds.info.
  • For European Economic Area (EEA) and UK visitors, LaptopXray employs a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) allowing you to consent or reject non-essential cookies.

4. Web Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with IP anonymization enabled to collect aggregated, non-personally identifiable traffic insights (such as page views, diagnostic category popularity, device operating system, browser engine, and approximate geographic region). This information helps us optimize tool loading speeds and identify hardware categories that require deeper diagnostic coverage. GA4 does not receive any user diagnostic test outputs.

5. Compliance with India Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023

As an Indian-founded digital platform, LaptopXray strictly adheres to the provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act):

  • We process personal data solely for lawful, transparent, and user-initiated purposes (e.g. responding to contact form inquiries).
  • No hardware sensor streams or biometric audio/video recordings are considered "processed data" by our servers because they never traverse the network or enter our infrastructure.
  • Users located in India may request details of any personal communication data we hold or request its immediate erasure by emailing contact@laptopxray.com.

6. Compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

For residents of the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA), our lawful basis for processing non-essential cookies and analytics is your explicit consent provided via our cookie banner. You retain the right to:

  • Access any personal data you have provided to us (e.g., via contact forms).
  • Rectify inaccurate personal details.
  • Request the complete deletion of your data ("Right to be Forgotten").
  • Withdraw cookie consent at any time via our Cookie Policy settings.

7. Compliance with California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and whether it is sold or shared. LaptopXray does not sell your personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal identifiers, biometric profiles, or location coordinates beyond approximate country/city level provided by standard HTTP headers.

8. Third-Party Links & Outbound Resources

Our troubleshooting guides may link to official manufacturer support portals (HP, Dell, Lenovo, Apple, ASUS, Acer), driver downloads, or consumer forums. We have no control over the privacy practices or content of third-party domains.
