1. Browser-Based Hardware Diagnostic Scope
All diagnostic tools and benchmarks hosted on LaptopXray (including but not limited to the Dead Pixel Test, Refresh Rate Test, Keyboard Tester, Mouse Double Click Test, Microphone Test, Sound Test, CPU Stress Test, and Battery Health Check) are browser-based diagnostic aids and technical estimates.
While our algorithms leverage standard W3C Web APIs with high technical rigor, browser environments are inherently sandboxed:
- Web browsers cannot bypass OS-level driver optimizations or hardware microcode abstractions.
- Certain operating systems (such as iOS Safari or Linux Chromium forks) deliberately quantize timing precision to prevent fingerprinting, which can introduce subtle jitter in polling rate measurements.
- Memory benchmarks measure JavaScript heap and typed-array throughput; they do not replace boot-level memory test utilities like MemTest86 or Windows Memory Diagnostic.
- Our tools are intended to assist consumers in identifying clear symptoms of component failure (such as non-responsive keys, permanent stuck pixels, speaker buzz, or severe thermal throttling). They do not constitute official manufacturer RMA authorization certificates.
2. Medical & Auditory Disclaimer (Hearing Test & Decibel Meter)
Auditory test results can be heavily distorted by consumer headphone frequency responses, background room noise, sound card equalizers, and user volume settings. If you experience hearing difficulty, tinnitus, sudden hearing reduction, or auditory discomfort, consult a certified audiologist or qualified medical physician immediately. Never listen to high-frequency or high-volume test tones for extended periods, as prolonged exposure can cause permanent noise-induced hearing loss.
3. Photosensitive Epilepsy Warning (Stuck Pixel Fixer & Display Tests)
The Stuck Pixel Fixer utilizes rapid, high-frequency flashing RGB noise patterns designed to stimulate stuck subpixel transistors. Individuals with photosensitive epilepsy or a history of seizures must NOT view the Stuck Pixel Fixer screen. If you experience dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitches, loss of awareness, or disorientation while running any visual test, immediately close the browser window and consult a doctor.
4. Thermal Stress Testing Disclaimer
The CPU Stress Test and GPU Stress Test place intentional heavy computational loads on your system's processing cores. On healthy computers, internal fans and modern thermal management automatically prevent component damage. However, running extended stress tests on laptops with clogged cooling vents, degraded thermal interface material, or faulty fan bearings may lead to emergency thermal shutdowns. LaptopXray is not responsible for hardware shutdowns or component failures resulting from stress testing already-failing hardware.
5. Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure
LaptopXray is an independently financed hardware testing project. To cover server hosting costs, CDN bandwidth, and testing lab equipment:
